The First Fifty Years of the Air Force Academy

At the Academy dedication in 1955, General Nathan Twining said Americans would “expect great things” of the Academy and its graduates. The Friends sponsored this documentary in commemoration of the Academy’s 50th anniversary. It traces efforts of cadets, staff, graduates to fulfill those epectations and features archival footage from the McDermott Library and interviews with key figures from the Academy’s formative years.
